Chinese Lanterns the easy way!
Inspired by an exquisite floor tile design in Bristol Cathedral, you can make this eye-catching quilt using piecing and fusing or hand appliqué. Using Christine’s template especially created for Tessellated Chinese Lanterns with Creative Grids, this new class has been developed which is simple, quick and fun, based on ideas in her book Quilt Designs from Decorative Floor Tiles. Make your quilt in subtle colours close to the original pale grey, blue and yellow marble, or go wild with contemporary fabrics as shown here. Specific quilting designs will also be given. Use the Diamond Template featured in "Let's Go Shopping".

Magical Maze
From Christine's new book, "Tessellation Quilts" Magical Maze is extremely simple and once the technique has been learned for putting the pieces together, the sky is the limit. The more different fabrics you use, the more fun you can have and the best part is that you need very little of each one, which makes it an ideal design for scrap quilts. I have made 4 small wall hangings to celebrate the seasons and these can be changed around according to the time of year. For extra creativity, you can experiment, as I have, with adding appliqué, embellishing with various threads and different kinds of quilting.

T Time!
From Christine's new book, "Tessellation Quilts", take the simple T block and have some fun putting it together using an easy template method and some quick pieced half-square triangles. By using Japanese style fabrics, you can make it look like kimonos, or with pretty florals and a tea-cup design appliqué, you can have a completely different look. We can even go folksy. There will be several quilts to see and be inspired by. Chris will share her quick piecing techniques with you and give ideas for borders and quilting. A fun day in which you should achieve a small quilt or wall hanging.

Squaring The Circle
Make this exciting quilt using circles and squares cut on the diagonal to produce stunning designs. Techniques include piecing, appliqué and embellishment with today's exciting embroidery threads. Christine was Inspired by Op Art fabrics in black and white and a bright graded background fabric introducing shading which enhances the optical illusion effect of the principal fabrics. Many other samples will be shown with other colourful options. A fun day ahead!
